doi={10.1038/s41597-025-05182-7}} Habitat monitoring is essential to counter biodiversity loss and environmental degradation, yet it traditionally relies on resource-intensive fieldwork by highly skilled botanists in remote locations. This dataset supports robotics-assisted habitat monitoring by providing labeled images collected with the ANYmal C quadrupedal robot across several Annex I habitats of Italy. The images are annotated for the detection of key plant species of interest, enabling the training of deep learning models for automated plant detection and, ultimately, the assessment of habitat conservation status.
